MAIN ROLES:
  • Cooperation with partners to develop and raise the quality of prevention
  • health promotion networks (e.g. healthy schools and kindergartens, healthy workplaces)
  • coordination of local health promotion specialists
  • trainings for specialists working with children and families
  • coordination (adaptation, evaluation, implementation) of some evidence-based prevention programs in Estonia (e.g. Incredible Years, Good Behavior Game)
  • developing communication strategy and activities targeting parents in prevention field

THE ORGANIZATION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Advisory role
  • Funding drug and alcohol prevention
  • Developing drug prevention programmes and/or policies
  • Monitoring substance related problems in order to apply the results to improve drug prevention
  • Monitoring drug prevention interventions or programmes
  • Conducting prevention research e.g. evaluation of drug prevention programmes, epidemiological studies in the general and student population
  • Implementing drug prevention e.g. family- and school-based programmes
  • Providing training on substance use prevention

THE SCOPE OF ACTIVITIES:
National organization, all activities should reach target groups all over Estonia (including Russian-speaking target groups, different counties etc).
